List of all Asian American-owned banks, Pacific Islander American-owned banks, and more

Mighty Guide, 2023 Edition

There are 73 banks in the United States owned or led by Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans, as certified by the FDIC.

  • Asian or Pacific Islander American-owned means that the majority of voting stock is owned by Asian or Pacific Islander Americans.

  • Asian or Pacific Islander American-led means that the bank predominantly serves Asian and Pacific Islander American communities and the majority of the board of directors are Asian or Pacific Islander American.

Though Asian American-owned and Pacific Islander American-owned banks are the most common type of bank that is owned or led by people of color (known as Minority Depository Institutions), the industry is still far from being representative, as these 73 banks make up just 1% of the United States’ ~5,000 banks.
